Tour Itinerary
The Slea Head Drive, part of the famous Wild Atlantic Way, forms a circular route beginning and ending in Dingle. This picturesque drive is dotted with countless attractions and stunning vistas, making it perfect for those who wish to explore at a leisurely pace. To fully appreciate its beauty, we recommend setting aside at least half a day, though a slower, more immersive experience over several hours or days will reveal the many hidden gems along the way.
After collecting you at your accommodation, we head to the town of Tralee made famous for the Rose Festival, and onwards to the Peninsular road, and the Conor Pass, one of highest mountain passes in Ireland. As we travel on to Dingle Town, we catch glimpses of the vast Atlantic Ocean.
On arrival, we spend time exploring the town and harbour views. After lunch we have the option to visit the small artisan ‘Dingle Distillery’, makers of a mighty fine Irish Whiskey, before heading out around Slea Head with its breath-taking views of the Atlantic, its isolated coves and beaches and of course sheer cliff drops. As our circuit continues we stop for photo’s and time permitting we call in at the Dingle Sheep Dog demonstration in Fahan.
As we head through Ballyferriter, the road takes us to Dingle and back up the Peninsula, to Annascaul. It’s here we make a rest stop at the South Pole, named by its owner one Antarctic explorer Tom Crean, who completed three expeditions to the south pole with Captain Scott and Ernest Shackleton and eventually retired in Annascaul. The Pub is a shrine to an incredible collection of memorabilia depicting Victorian exploration.
As we make our return journey don’t forget to ask your chauffeur what other opportunities this great County offers before heading back to your accommodation.
